THE BRIDGE TO PERFECTION, STAR TREE, JYOTHI - THE DESERT DANCER, MOHINI (THE MOST BEAUTIFUL), ARCHANA (VENERATION) and BETWEEN ELEMENTS, there are as many opportunities to get to know the painting of Elena Ghita, an exceptional plastic artist who exhibits, between January 9-31, at Alexandra's Gallery.
THE BRIDGE TO PERFECTION
In this paper I tried to understand the essence of space, of the world we live in. This paper raises some questions: How does contemporary man understand space? How does he perceive it? Especially the man who lives in the city. The secret geometry of space has brought many questions from long ago. Some questions turned into puzzles… The moment of composition is that of the boundary between natural light (after sunset) and city lights. The space in this early night is debated by the sumptuous meta-rationalist style architecture of Dubai and the "emptiness" of the sky reminiscent of minimalist philosophy. The city, which looks like an extravagant jewel set in an "outfit" in the color of the imperial blue.
THE STARRY TREE
The tree of stars rising above the worldly ocean. We created this tree to remind us of the tree of life, Yggdrasil, about the trees of all cultures. Childhood trees: to whom we shared our great dreams, laughed, hid, played. First love trees, witness trees, family members. The trees, the pillars of this world. A tree as big as a constellation, pointing north to what we are looking for.
JYOTHI - THE DESERT DANCER
These 3 works Jyothi, Mohini and Archana are works from the ladies of the desert project. I wanted to build this pictorial project from color, veils, sand, wind and sun. It is a project whose main theme is: women. With all its branches, its qualities, its sufferings, its enigmas. Dancing along with music have a very important role through which these women express themselves. I chose Hindu names with a meaning specific to each composition. Here, I chose the name Jyothi which means: flame. In the sometimes incandescent red jump, the dancer can identify with a real flame.
MOHINI (THE MOST BEAUTIFUL)
This portrait represents a young Indian woman. Mohini meaning "the most beautiful". It is in a jump in shades of pearl pink. Colors that suggest youth, vivacity. He holds a bouquet of Indian jasmine flowers in his hand. Mohini, looking at things with force, courage.
ARCHANA (VENERATION)
If in the painting of the young Mohini, we can see a portrait rich in details, in this case we see very few. It is a portrait of the mature woman. Enigmatic, mysterious. We can only imagine what it looks like, how the sound of her footsteps can be heard through that deserted palace, where the sand of the desert can't wait to enter and invade it. But it happens that by the cadence of the steps, the dignity with which he wears his sari and the vase of flowers, Archana stops this. And in this simple, austere interior, a warm, filtered light enters. A light that bears the imprint of silence.
BETWEEN ELEMENTS
This work follows the much-loved theme of the artist: that of the traveler, of the traveler. Adventure lovers, those new things you can discover. It is a journey between the elements of nature. A nature often full of grandiose things, but also of trials. I was inspired when I saw the great expedition men sailing with their ships until they got stuck in the ice. But they didn't stop. They continued, breaking the ice. And with all human efforts, superhuman to continue to reach the North Pole. Or other as yet undiscovered lands. The strength of these people impressed me and can be an example of perseverance.
