Between February 16 and March 20, we host the exhibition "The ineffable art of the jeweler Marian Nacu", on which occasion you can buy jewelry bearing the NACU signature, especially since we have in front of us three more special occasions - Dragobetele, March 1 and March 8.

Inefabilul artei bijutierului Marian NacuAnd because I saw that you liked the story of Constantin N. Vasiliu Bolnavu from Ploiesti, about which you could read here, today we tell you about another famous Ploiesti resident. This time - an artist; and famous more in the wide world than in his country.

Marian Nacu, therefore, was born in Ploiesti, in 1948. His father, a geologist by profession, often took him on his travels and made him love the stones and try to find out as much as possible about them. A detail, you could say, but a detail that will have its undeniable importance in becoming an artist.

In 1978 we find Marian Nacu as a recent graduate of the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Art Institute in Bucharest, Design section - glass, metal and ceramics.

From 1980 to the present he participates in most national and international exhibitions of decorative or fashion art (jewelry collections), receives numerous awards - attestation of his artistic value and has countless personal exhibitions and presentations of collections - many of these events being exclusive or even private.

His first personal exhibition takes place in 1982 at the Hanul cu Tei Gallery and since then the jewelry and decorative art objects signed by NACU have been around the world, most of them currently being in private collections in countries such as: France, USA, Cyprus , Greece, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Israel, England, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, Italy, Switzerland, Venezuela, Lebanon, Portugal.

For us, the exhibition "The ineffable art of the jeweler Marian Nacu" is, beyond a great honor that the artist does us by accepting to be his hosts, a continuation of our good habit of bringing artists of heavy caliber.

This time, the official opening of the exhibition was different. Without formalizing ourselves, we introduced those who crossed our threshold for the first time to those who regularly come to our events and we all sat around Marian Nacu listening to him, because we have to tell you that, beyond his quality as an artist, he is a character with a quiver full of wonderful stories.
