Constatin Piliuță imposes himself as a draftsman through a special acuity of observation, translated by an incisive line, carrying, as the case may be, dramatic tensions or situations full of humor. In painting it evolves in a direction of landscape in which the cult for nature, for the concrete elements that were once imposed on memory is intertwined with a lyrical vein that dominates the entire figurative material, in a unique poetic structure. We find this lyricism in the paintings inspired by the Danube Delta, the sunburned land with dwarf vegetation, Dobrogea or the old cities (Botosani, for example), with a picturesque architecture, preserving the shadows of the old fairs. The painter removes the insignificant detail, the incidental gesture to perceive the lasting. The color spreads in wide, monochrome fields. The bright tones, released from the impurities that make up an airy world, in which meditation is established as a way to restore communion with a pure and vital nature. With the same possibilities of essentialization, the painter approaches other genres, such as the portrait (Tudor Vianu; Tudor Arghezi) and compositions of historical evocation. He is also the author of monumental works of art, made in fresco (Union Museum in Alba Iulia, 1968), mosaic (Târgoviște Supermarket) or ceramic modules (Iron Gates Hydropower Plant, 1973).
