After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1926, he made his debut at official events, being present in 1928 on the official Salon. In the tradition of the young graduates of Belle Arte, which lasted until the interwar period, Iordache went to study in France, and ended up taking lessons in Paris from Andre Lhote and Pascin. For two years, until 1930, he discovered Western art, then returned to the country with the experience of new artistic currents. Going through the classic steps of arranging the artistic universe, various precepts and tendencies will take root in the plastic of the young painter. Thus, it will be influenced by post-impressionist color application techniques and, moreover, it will acquire a new spectrum of color, which will be closer to that of fovs - strong elements that define the elementary structure from which subsequent interrogations start. Even if the adherence to them was not made theoretically, the own way of absorption and integration of the elements gave his style originality. In front of the landscape Dem Iordache externalizes the same feelings that we find in Lucian Grigorescu or Dărăscu. In a generous perspective, the landscape is rendered in an impressionistic tone, the touch being the one that coordinates the pictorial complex. Being passionate about color, Iordache uses optical intuition in the representation of buildings and, even if he does not truthfully respect the nuances of buildings, the impression given gives the sight recognizability. The landscape of Resita is thus presented through a chromatic viewfinder, the overall image being easy to attribute to an impressionist feeling. Following in the footsteps of Stefan Popescu or Jean Al. Steriadi, Iordache is attracted by the industrial perspectives of the city of Banat, subtly mentioning the famous furnaces, somewhere in the uncertain horizon of the picture. In generous touches of color, the painter presents us with a winter Resita, where the atmosphere laden with the smoke of the chimneys is pressed by the dark, cold blue sky, which also balances the warm tones in the foreground of the construction.
