The painter Eugen Crăciun was born on February 28, 1922 in Piatra Neamţ. Between 1947-1950, he was a student of the Academy of Fine Arts, Iaşi, Painting Section, Class of Professor Corneliu Baba, then, between 1950-1953 - student of the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" Bucharest, Painting department. Teachers: Alexandru Ciucurencu and Octav Angheluţă. Since 1954, he has been a member of the Union of Visual Artists in Romania. Between 1960-1970, he collaborated with newspapers and magazines with drawings and reproductions and illustrated books: 1961 - Ioan Slavici, "Mara"; 1966 - Oscar Paulini, “Mein hund Hasso”; 1968 - Dumitru Popovici, “Eminescu's Poetry” - 2 vols .; 1970 - The popular ballad "Badiul". The painter had numerous personal exhibitions.
