Asconi Winery was founded in 1994, as a family business whose goal was "a good wine using modern technologies while maintaining traditions." The winery planted in the area of Geamana village in Anenii Noi district, over 500 hectares of vines from classic French varieties (Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon-Blanc, Muscat), rarer varieties (Riesling, Malbec, Pinot Noir) , and, of course, the local varieties Feteasca Albă and Feteasca Neagră. Asconi produces white, red and dry rosé wines, dessert wines and strong wines. Most red wines are aged in 225 liter barrels made of American, Hungarian and French oak. Most white wines are fresh, with the exception of Chardonnays and Riesings that are fermented or matured in oak.
