On Thursday, June 20, Alexandra's Gallery invited its clients and art lovers to the 22nd ROCAT Gala, which brought the painter Marcel Thiele and the sculptor Alfred Dumitriu face to face. Alexandra's Gallery filled up, although the rain outside seemed to ruin the event. The names of the artists invited to exhibit made the spaces inconvenient for those curious to see Thiele's paintings and Dumitriu's sculptures.

Marcel Thiele is a German painter based in Romania, who gave up his professional stability and management positions in international retail companies, in order to put into practice a dream of making his own painting workshop. Slowly, without realizing it, Marcel turned his passion into a real full time job, sometimes painting for days without stopping. Find out more about Marcel Thiele HERE.

Alfred Dumitriu follows a direction of monumental sculpture that tries to reconcile the monumental presence of the three-dimensional volume with the sacred vision of space. What allows this synthesis is the fact that it minimizes the allusion to the human figure, contained in the signs of the Orthodox symbolic repertoire. It preserves pagan elements insofar as they, as pre-Christian elements, converge on Christian symbolism. Find out more about Alfred Dumitriu HERE.

As always, Aqua Carpatica will be with us at this event. And those who do not come by car will be able to enjoy the excellent wines of Liliac Winery.
