Born in July 1972 in Bucharest, Marius Vernescu is the only Romanian jazzman who was awarded in 2002 with the Grand Prix at Montreux. He has been studying the piano since he was only 7 years old. He continued with the "Dinu Lipatti" High School of Music and the National University of Music in Bucharest. He completed his studies abroad (Jazz Academy - Hanover, Germany) and established himself as a jazz pianist collaborating and singing with Garbis Dedeian, Tudy Zaharescu, Anca Parghel or Emil Soumah. He participated in the Jazz Festivals in Sibiu, Brasov, Iasi, Costinesti and Timisoara, but also in Greece (Corinthos and Athens), Italy, Austria or Hungary (Budapest).

"A romantic temperament, with a fabulous and colorful technique, personalizing itself through extremely well-managed tempo breaks", Marius Vernescu was himself so delighted to be reunited with the Bucharest audience that he would never leave the stage , to the delight of the audience ”- it was written in a chronicle.

In July, we bring it to Alexandra's Gallery, within the ROCAT series of events. We return in detail.
