Representatives of Sotheby's announced that a Chinese bowl about 1,000 years old, from the Song Dynasty, was sold at auction for about 32 million euros. The previous world record price for a Chinese ceramic object was 30 million euros and was set in 2014 with a glass of wine from the Ming Dynasty. This bowl, 13 centimeters in diameter, used to wash the brushes of Chinese scribes, is one of the few objects from the Song Dynasty that has remained intact to this day in the North. Only four porcelains, including this one, exist in private collections.
