Marcel Thiele is a German painter in love with Romania and settled in Bucharest, who gave up, a few years ago, his professional stability and management positions in the international companies where he worked, in order to put into practice a dream: that of making his own painting workshop. Almost without realizing it, he turned his hobby into a real full time job, sometimes painting for days, fascinated by a new idea. His professional background is in international business management, working and studying in several European countries, including Germany, Ireland, Italy, France and Romania. All this personal experience, added to his German DNA, also makes its mark in his artistic works, in which the structured, organized and disciplined construction goes in parallel with the works invaded by spontaneous explosions of color and flexible and cheerful shapes. His paintings are exhibited in homes and private collections in several European countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden but also in Brazil and the USA.

Because he always likes to experiment, from new styles, materials and techniques, to unconventional painting on different elements and objects of everyday life, every object around him is in danger of receiving a different appearance: from bottles. of wine, shoes and furniture, up to the body of his own car, Marcel paints everything that catches his eye.

The first exhibition took place in April 2014, in Production Workshop from Bucharest, together with the fashion designer Ana Novic. In December 2015, the first exhibition of its own took place, accompanied by the opening. The event, hosted by a luxury clinic in the center of Bucharest, enjoyed the presence of many public figures from the world of art, music and media. In March 2016, Unica magazine he declares him the "artist of the moon" and dedicates them to him a presentation page. Uremains a series of articles, positive chronicles and shows in Adevărul, Mediafax, România Libera, Freedom for women, Casa Lux, but also TV and radio news and reports The world is talking (Pro TV), Turnkey dreams (Pro TV), Radio Bucharest FM (Good morning, In the community, Night line, etc.). In June 2016 the gallery Phototeque from GW Marriott Hotel in Bucharest hosts the exhibition #CrossRoads, accompanied by a vernissage on the artist's birthday, on June 20. The event enjoys the presence of a large audience, most of them from the international business community. In collaboration with Winery Urlați Dealu Mare, brings out a limited collection of two wines (white and red), labeled with two of the emblematic paintings for the theme of the exhibition. exhibition #The colorful life gathered together, on a warm day in September 2016, a large number of friends from the blogosphere but also from business, around a fragrant sangria on the terrace of La Rambla in Victoriei Square. Mogosoaia Palace was the venue for the art exhibition "Color your life", held between October 2-9, 2016 and opened with a beautiful acoustic concert presented by Alexandra Ușurelu and her band. The beautiful garden of the palace was suddenly filled with color and clean sound. The closing of the exhibition was marked by another memorable acoustic concert, held by the band ZUM, in the Bark Hall of Mogoșoaia Palace, on October 9th. During the same event, the artist challenged the guests to show their creativity in a spontaneous painting workshop, while the winery Urlați Dealu Mare offered the participants a tasting with stories of several hundred years. In December 2016, Unica magazine declared him “Artist of the Year”, nominated by online vote by the readers of Unica magazine. The prize is awarded to him, within Galei Unica, by Adela Pârvu, one of the best known specialists in interior design. In June 2017 he participates in Art Safari, the largest art fair in Eastern Europe, in a Romanian-German intercultural cross, with the painter Nicoleta Jutka. The Romanian artist settled in Germany, Nicoleta is a good friend of the German painter settled in Romania, and the paradox makes them both neighbors in Germany and in Romania. The exhibition, called "Light Penetrates Darkness" fit perfectly with the location of Art Safari 2016, hosted in the Krețulescu Palace, the place where the political detainees of the Securitate from the past were tortured.

Currently, the German painter's 100 sq m workshop, located in an attic near Victoriei Square, becomes, from time to time, the place of attraction for filming shows, interviews, videos, but also the perfect space for unconventional events. "Home to Marcel Thiele" can also be written as "bath of colors". The workshop of the German painter established in Romania is a difficult visual test when you come from the dull traffic in Bucharest. You need time to adapt, to enjoy. Luckily, the German is not German at all. Marcel behaves more like an old-school Frenchman: polite, kind, modest.  His workshop can be considered a source of envy for other painters. The bridge and the "floor" of the bridge, so to speak, are a more than generous surface, decorated in a unique and practical way at the same time. You don't know if you're looking at a technical adaptation or an art installation.

It is very difficult to classify Marcel Thiele in a school or in a school. Paint with a range of products, from acrylic paint cans to spray… ..

… On all kinds of surfaces, from canvas to decorative objects or car body parts. Basically, Marcel paints everything he does with his eye.

Marcel Thiele did not dream of becoming a painter. He was a retail corporatist, manager of a huge company, who built several hundred stores in Romania. He settled in Romania after falling in love with a Romanian woman. The desire to have more time for her made him see his work with different eyes. He realized that he was on the verge of burnout, so he took a sabbatical year, during which he discovered not only that he likes to paint, but also that other people like what he paints. Now his paintings are on display in homes and private collections in France, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden, Brazil and the United States.

I left Marcel choosing his paintings for the exhibition About Love with Marcel Thiele, which takes place until February 25, at Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest. We invite you to see his works.
